The modern day Christian prosperity movement has made a mockery of The Word. People are interested in their own self absorbed ambition to get money and wealth for themselves. These pastors twist the word saying if you pay ten percent tithe that the Most High will bless you. Some people have been paying tithes and are still in poverty. Tithes was never about money but agriculture provisions for the Levitical priesthood.
We live in a fast-paced society and the love of many has waxed cold (Matthew 24:12 – and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold). We have forgotten the simplicity of the gospel of sharing and helping our fellow neighbor due to the prosperity get rich false gospel of greed.
Matthew 25:35-40
Many of us say we love Yah but do we really? Do we feed the poor? do we cloth them? Are we concerned about the needs of others or are own? Do we believe in collective prosperity or do we have selfish ambition full of greed? Do we share a word of encouragement or prayer towards someone in need? When you see someone in need and you know they are going through a hard time, does it compel you and move you to intercede in prayer and help or do you walk away when they ask? I’m not saying give money to support a bad habit but if we walk in the Spirit and discern, we can be able to be a blessing.
Proverbs 3:27 – Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.Christ said in Luke 6:38 – “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Proverbs 19:17 – He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Most High loves a cheerful giver and when we help people not to be seen but with genuine compassion and care for others who need assistance. Let us be a light to the world if we have been blessed by the Most High, lets us share and help others. May we all have that spirit of hospitality and desire to see others prosper. Be a blessing to someone; give and help those in need. May Yah richly bless you and may all your needs be met.
