The Countdown...

It was finally here...
summer break was over.
and she dreaded it.

I mean it was all good to be partnered with him when they were together--that's why those chose each other as lab partners last school year.

but Chem teacher Mrs. Flores wasn't willing to make that switch for her.

He broke her heart.

2 years...just out the window...like what they shared wasn't special... like she didn't have her first kiss with him..like they didn't go to freshman prom together... all just shattered..

and she had to watch it all from the sidelines of his happy Instagram posts.

she hated this summer.

she just wanted to be alone. she wanted to move schools. she wanted to go to the beach, but she couldn't find a reason to be happy.

she hated that tomorrow was the first day of school.
she closed her eyes on her purple bed and heard these words whispered in her heart....
