she takes another long cold shower
to numb the pain
her body is aching
and the pain in her heart just won't go away.
she looks out to the sky
from the bathroom mirror
and sees a rainbow.
A promise from God that He will Never Leave or forsake her.

that she is dearly loved.
through the storm and after..
these rainbow promises will stand.

another day. another day of not healing.
he missed running with his friends
running on the beach
just running.
but now he was bed bound
gripped by depression.
because his legs don't function as they used to.
even his heart isn't functioning as they used to.
he feels
forgotten.
misplaced
mismanaged
like he's slowly drifting away
nothing. worthless.
all those demonic lies
that he is believing.
until,
he finally took a look at the sky
as the rain was subsiding
and he could see
a rainbow.

  these rainbow promises will stand.

they can't stop arguing.
maybe we should end it they plead.
nothing is ever going to change they shout.
they just want out, and quick.
the pain of this marriage has been too dark, too long,
too crucifying. 
they need hope to endure. hope to stay. hope to know that tomorrow will prove for a better way.
in the midst of the rain,
they saw it standing outside the dark clouds; a rainbow.

These rainbow promises are for you too. A sign that Jesus Christ will never ever leave or forsake you.
